1990's Novel to become the Garrison's First Horror Film
The short unpublished novel, "The Devil at Heaven's Door" is being adapted for the big screen, with production to begin this year, according to producer and director Scott Wegener.
The film, tentatively titled "Genghis,' would be David Garrison Productions and Nobleman Square's first horror outing. Historically, the Garrison's bread and butter have leaned into action adventure since the three time Emmy Award winning "The Golem" in 1999
starring Richard A. Arthur and Ernie Rowland. Ironically, the source material for that film, 1920's Der Golem (directed by and starring Germany's Paul Wegener) is a classic example of Expressionist horror at its finest.
The longline for Genghis says "A teenage goth/punk rocker discovers an exiled demon living in a cave below her uncle's midwestern farm, attracting the minions of hell to slaughter them both."
Preproduction is expected to begin in February, with shooting starting in May.
In keeping with tradition, "Genghis" will be all volunteer, with all proceeds going to charity.
